No. Backspace is developed by independent creators. We are not affiliated with Apple Inc. Any references to macOS features are purely for descriptive and comparative purposes.

You receive a one-time purchase for a perpetual (lifetime) license. This license is non-exclusive and intended for personal use on a single Mac. If you switch to a new Mac, your license is fully transferable — simply contact support and we'll move it over for you.

It means the license grants you the right to use the Software indefinitely, and it includes all future updates for the current major version of the software. "Lifetime" refers to the supported life of the Software product.

Your license permits the Software to be actively used on one device at a time.

Activation sends your license key and a device identifier to our server so the license can be validated and associated with one Mac. We also retain the purchase email and limited Paddle identifiers needed for license delivery and support. Anonymous wallpaper likes, downloads, and applications may be counted to build public Popular and Trending rankings. They are not linked to your license, hardware ID, Apple account, email, or location.

Your license is technically bound to your Mac's hardware ID for security, but it is fully transferable. If you upgrade to a new Mac or have your logic board replaced, you do not need to buy a new license. Simply contact support to reset your key.

Backspace does not build a personal activity profile or collect precise location. It uses a random installation identifier to deduplicate anonymous wallpaper likes, downloads, and applications for public like counts and Popular and Trending rankings. This identifier is separate from license, hardware, Apple account, and email data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all purchases. If you are not satisfied, you can request a full refund within 14 days from the date of purchase — no questions asked. Any refunded purchase will result in the immediate and permanent deactivation of your license.

Due to Apple's strict sandboxing requirements for the App Store, that version of Backspace cannot currently set the system lockscreen wallpaper. The website version (standalone) is not subject to these sandbox restrictions and offers full support for synchronized lockscreen and desktop transitions.

Yes! If you have already purchased Backspace through the macOS App Store and would like to also obtain the standalone website version for full features, you are eligible for a discount. Please contact support with your App Store receipt, and we will provide you with a discount code for the standalone license.
